About Everybody Wins DC
Everybody Wins DC is a non-profit organization focused on improving the lives of children through reading. Founded in 1995, it aims to address educational and economic disparities by supporting children in under-resourced communities in the Washington Metro Area. The organization fosters a love of reading and learning, helping children develop essential skills for success in school and beyond. The organization offers three main programs: One-on-One Mentoring, which pairs children with mentors for read-aloud activities; Free Book Distributions, providing children with access to books at home; and Community Partnerships, which create inclusive reading opportunities for children aged 5-12. Everybody Wins DC collaborates with schools and community partners to enhance literacy and personal development for those who need it most. Recognized for its contributions to literacy, Everybody Wins DC has received several awards, including the Mayor's Organizational Volunteerism Award and the Mike Fox Literacy Award. The organization operates with a budget between $500,000 and $1 million, relying on donations and partnerships to sustain its impactful programs.
