The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo (CFGB) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1919, dedicated to fostering community transformation in Western New York. With over a century of experience, CFGB manages $800 million in charitable assets and collaborates with more than 400 active clients, including individuals, families, and organizations. Its mission is to connect people, ideas, and resources to enhance lives across eight counties, focusing on long-term, systemic change. CFGB provides various services, including grantmaking aligned with community goals in education, racial equity, environment, and arts and culture. It leads strategic initiatives like the Greater Buffalo Racial Equity Roundtable and the Say Yes Buffalo program, which aims to improve graduation rates in local schools. The foundation also offers donor services, managing charitable funds and scholarships to support tailored philanthropy. Through data-driven strategic planning, CFGB engages over 950 residents and stakeholders to set community priorities, making it a key player in addressing complex local issues.
