About The Jacobs Institute

The Jacobs Institute (JI) is a not-for-profit vascular medical technology innovation center located in Buffalo, New York. It is the only facility in the world that operates as an independently managed medical innovation center within a single building. JI's mission is to accelerate the development of next-generation technologies in vascular medicine through collaboration among physicians, engineers, entrepreneurs, and industry.

Strategically positioned between Kaleida Health's Gates Vascular Institute and the University at Buffalo's Clinical and Translational Research Center, JI fosters seamless collaboration for medical device development. The institute's core services include innovation and product development through its i2R (Idea to Reality) Center, which supports various stages of medical device creation, from ideation to FDA submission. Additionally, JI offers regulatory and quality services, clinical training programs, and a 3D Printing Center of Excellence in Health Care, providing customizable 3D-printed vascular flow models. The Jacobs Institute is also committed to education and community programs, inspiring future healthcare professionals through various initiatives.
