About Virginia Tech Innovation and Partnerships
Virginia Tech Innovation and Partnerships (VTIP) is a division of Virginia Tech's Office for Research and Innovation. It acts as a central hub for interdisciplinary research, technology commercialization, startup formation, and industry collaborations. VTIP connects faculty, students, and various organizations to turn discoveries into market-ready solutions that have economic, social, and global impacts.
VTIP operates through three main centers: LINK, LICENSE, and LAUNCH. LINK focuses on building industry partnerships, LICENSE manages technology commercialization and intellectual property, and LAUNCH supports startup ventures. The division emphasizes collaboration in areas such as AI, quantum computing, advanced manufacturing, and decarbonization. VTIP offers resources like proof-of-concept grants, training workshops, and proposal development support to help researchers and entrepreneurs navigate the path from idea to market.
