About U.S. Navy Supply Corps School

The U.S. Navy Supply Corps School (NSCS) is the primary training institution for Navy Supply Corps officers, focusing on logistics, financial management, and operational support. Established in 1921, it has relocated several times and is currently based at Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island, since 2011. Known as the "Cradle of the Supply Corps," NSCS offers career-long training that emphasizes technical expertise in supply chain management, acquisitions, and financial operations. NSCS provides a range of training programs, including a 26-week Basic Officer Training course that covers supply management and operational logistics. Advanced and specialized training courses focus on expeditionary logistics, operational contracting, and leadership development. The school trains U.S. Navy personnel, including active-duty Supply Corps officers and naval reservists, ensuring they are equipped with skills in financial management, logistics operations, and contracting processes. The facility is named after Vice Adm. Kenneth R. Wheeler and operates under the Naval Education and Training Command (NETC).
