About Knight-Hennessy Scholars

Knight-Hennessy Scholars is a graduate scholarship program at Stanford University, established in 2016 with significant contributions from Phil Knight, co-founder of Nike. The program aims to prepare scholars to tackle global challenges such as climate change and poverty through interdisciplinary collaboration. Each year, it selects up to 100 scholars from diverse backgrounds and academic disciplines, providing full funding for their graduate studies at Stanford. The program offers comprehensive financial support, covering tuition, stipends, and academic expenses for up to three years. It emphasizes leadership development through workshops, mentorship, and the King Global Leadership Program, which focuses on cross-cultural communication and problem-solving. Scholars also benefit from experiential learning opportunities, including global study trips and networking with industry leaders. The program fosters a multidisciplinary approach, with scholars representing all seven Stanford schools and forming a strong alumni network.
