Elections BC
About
Elections BC, officially known as the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer of British Columbia, is a non-partisan office responsible for managing provincial and local elections, by-elections, petitions, referendums, and plebiscites in British Columbia. It operates independently to ensure fair electoral processes across 93 electoral districts, where voters elect one Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) per district. The office oversees various electoral services, including maintaining the provincial voters list, regulating candidate nominations and political parties, and managing campaign financing and advertising rules. Elections BC also sets electoral boundaries and declares election results, ensuring compliance with established regulations. It provides public resources such as guides for voting and counting, online portals for election results, and nomination compliance information. The next provincial election is scheduled for October 21, 2028, following a fixed election date system established in 2001.
