The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (BCLDB) is a provincial government agency in British Columbia, Canada, responsible for the wholesale and retail distribution of beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis. Established in 1921, the BCLDB operates under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and is headquartered in Burnaby, BC. It employs between 4,200 and 5,500 staff, making it one of the largest employers in the province. The BCLDB holds exclusive rights to purchase, import, and distribute alcohol and non-medical cannabis, sourcing products from over 1,000 suppliers. It operates a network of 198 BC Liquor Stores and 39 BC Cannabis Stores, providing a wide range of products to both private and public retailers, as well as the hospitality sector. The agency also runs an online cannabis store and implements programs to prevent sales to minors and intoxicated individuals, ensuring responsible distribution practices.
