Dominican School of Philosophy & Theology
About
The Dominican School of Philosophy & Theology (DSPT) is a graduate school located in Berkeley, California, founded in 1932. It serves as the center for Dominican studies in the West and is dedicated to integrating philosophy and theology, particularly through the teachings of Thomas Aquinas. DSPT's mission is to educate leaders and academics who can address contemporary needs within the Church and the world. DSPT offers a range of graduate degrees, including Ph.D., Terminal Masters, and Non-Terminal Masters, with specializations in various areas of philosophy and theology. The school also provides a two-year Master of Arts in Theology program aimed at equipping students to tackle modern challenges in the Church. With an enrollment of fewer than 100 students, DSPT emphasizes a commuter-based education, allowing students to study off-campus at nearby institutions. The PHILOI International Scholarships Program supports the formation of Dominican brothers, enhancing their intellectual and spiritual development.
