About

CIRS (Centre for Innovation in Regulatory Science) is a UK-based nonprofit research organization and think tank. It serves as a platform for policy leaders from various sectors, including government regulators, health technology assessment (HTA) agencies, the pharmaceutical industry, and patient organizations. CIRS focuses on advancing regulatory and HTA policies to improve access to medicines. It operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Clarivate and is funded through membership dues, special projects, and grants. Founded in 2002, CIRS has evolved to address regulatory harmonization and HTA roles in medicine development. Its mission includes applying scientific principles to enhance regulatory policies, facilitating dialogue among stakeholders, and conducting research to support capacity-building, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. CIRS organizes global meetings, conducts international research projects, and produces various outputs, including research briefings and policy recommendations, all aimed at improving the quality and efficiency of regulatory processes.
