Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati is an affiliate of the oldest mentoring organization in the United States. The organization focuses on creating one-to-one mentoring relationships that empower youth to reach their full potential. Their mission is to provide positive role models who inspire and encourage children to succeed academically and personally. The primary service offered is the pairing of adult volunteers, known as Big Brothers and Big Sisters, with children, referred to as Littles. This mentoring supports the social and emotional development of children aged 6 to 22, helping them build resilience and promoting mental health. In 2023, the organization served 804 children across 13 counties in the Tri-State area, including Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, and Southeastern Indiana. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati reports impressive outcomes, with 100% of the children in school and 99% not involved with the juvenile justice system. The organization actively seeks volunteers from various backgrounds to become mentors, emphasizing the rewarding nature of making a positive impact in a child's life.
