About

Animab is a biotechnology company based in Gent, Belgium, founded in 2020 as a spin-off from VIB, University of Ghent, and Vrije Universiteit Brussel. The company focuses on developing oral monoclonal antibody solutions for livestock disease control, particularly targeting gastrointestinal infections in production animals. Animab has secured significant funding, including over €12 million from various European investors and an additional €10 million in Series B financing to support the launch of its lead product. The company's flagship product, Nanoprotec®, is designed to protect piglets from enterotoxigenic *Escherichia coli* (ETEC), a major cause of post-weaning diarrhea in pigs. This product offers an antibiotic-free alternative for swine farmers, promoting sustainable animal farming practices. Animab is also developing additional oral antibody solutions for other gastrointestinal infections. In 2025, the company entered an exclusive distribution agreement with Huvepharma to commercialize Nanoprotec® in the European market, targeting swine farmers and livestock producers seeking effective disease prevention methods.
