AeoniQ™ is a Swiss-based cleantech company and a subsidiary of HeiQ Group, focused on sustainable textile innovations. It specializes in the development of the world's first climate-positive, fully biodegradable, and recyclable cellulosic filament yarn. This innovative yarn is designed to replace synthetic fibers like polyester and nylon in the textile industry. The company utilizes a proprietary manufacturing process that recycles over 99% of water and incorporates renewable, locally sourced materials such as eucalyptus pulp and agricultural waste. AeoniQ™ operates a pilot plant in Herzogenburg, Austria, with plans for expansion through a joint venture with Altri SGPS S.A. This collaboration aims to enhance production capabilities, targeting a Giga-Factory in Portugal to produce 3,000 tons of yarn annually by 2026. The yarn is engineered for performance comparable to traditional synthetic fibers while being fully biodegradable and avoiding microplastic pollution. AeoniQ™ actively seeks partnerships with brands and mills to promote early adoption and operational scaling, with notable collaborations including HUGO BOSS and The Lycra Company.
