About Victoria Residential Builders Association
The Victoria Residential Builders Association (VRBA) is a non-profit professional industry association established in 1940, making it one of Canada's oldest builders associations. Based in Victoria, BC, the VRBA represents the residential construction sector on Vancouver Island, Vancouver, and in BC's interior. The association is dedicated to promoting industry professionalism and housing affordability while emphasizing consumer protection and best practices in health and safety.
With around 190 members, primarily contractors, the VRBA includes builders, renovators, designers, trades, and suppliers. It offers education and training programs in partnership with the Vancouver Island Construction Association to enhance professionalism in the industry. The VRBA also hosts the annual CARE Awards, recognizing excellence in West Coast home design and construction. Additionally, the association advocates for important industry issues, including mandatory education for builders and uniform building codes, as well as renovation tax credits to support housing affordability.
