Veriflow (Acquired by VMWare)
About Veriflow (Acquired by VMWare)
Veriflow, based in San Jose, California, was a network verification and assurance startup founded in 2013. The company specialized in intent-based network modeling and verification, particularly for hybrid network environments. In August 2019, Veriflow was acquired by VMware to enhance its network monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities. Prior to the acquisition, Veriflow raised $11.1 million in funding from Menlo Ventures and New Enterprise Associates. Veriflow's core technology included software-based network modeling, automated validation of network connectivity and security compliance, and tools for predicting the impact of network changes. These features helped reduce outages and maintenance risks while identifying critical network issues across both physical and virtual layers. After the acquisition, Veriflow's technology was integrated into VMware's vRealize Network Insight, improving unified monitoring and application-centric security planning for complex hybrid networks.
