Twente Airport
About
Twente Airport, also known as Enschede Airport Twente, is a civilian regional general aviation airport located near Enschede in the eastern Netherlands. Established in 1931 as a military base, it now serves as a hub for general aviation and an incubator for sustainable aviation and innovative mobility solutions. The airport features a long, well-maintained runway and is part of the Technology Base campus, providing a secure environment for testing and development. The airport supports charter flights and private jet services, catering to travelers in the eastern Netherlands. It also facilitates recreational flying through local flying clubs and serves as a testing ground for both manned and unmanned aircraft. In addition to aviation activities, Twente Airport hosts non-aviation events, including one of Holland's largest flea markets. The airport is currently focused on local operations while awaiting further redevelopment.
