About TRIUMF

TRIUMF is Canada's national particle accelerator centre, located in Vancouver, British Columbia. Established in 1968, it serves as the country's leading physics laboratory and a hub for subatomic physics research and isotope science. Owned by a consortium of Canadian universities, TRIUMF operates as a not-for-profit charity, evolving from a local facility into a national lab with strong connections to academia, industry, and government.

The lab is home to the world's largest normal conducting cyclotron, which produces 520 MeV protons. TRIUMF's research programs focus on particle and nuclear physics, isotope science and nuclear medicine, materials science, and accelerator and detector development. It attracts scientists from over 40 countries and maintains numerous international agreements, contributing significantly to Canada's economy. TRIUMF fosters innovation through collaboration, providing resources and expertise for cutting-edge research and training opportunities across multiple disciplines.
