Three Twins Organic Ice Cream
About Three Twins Organic Ice Cream
Three Twins Organic Ice Cream was an innovative organic ice cream company founded in 2005 by Neal Gottlieb in San Rafael, California. It became the first U.S. organic ice cream shop chain and grew into a $15 million business by 2019. The company was known for its certified organic ice cream pints, novelties, sundae cones, and bulk foodservice products, all made with ethically sourced ingredients and offered at an affordable price point. At its peak in 2017, Three Twins operated seven stores, including four in California and licensed locations in Tokyo and Seoul. The company distributed its products nationally through retailers like Whole Foods Market and generated significant revenue from international sales. Unfortunately, Three Twins ceased operations in April 2020 due to financial challenges, including those related to the COVID-19 pandemic. After its closure, the company's intellectual property was sold in November 2020.
