Techtonica

Techtonica is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for women and non-binary adults, especially those from low-income backgrounds, to enter the tech industry. Founded in 2016 by Michelle Glauser, Techtonica aims to empower individuals economically through a comprehensive software engineering training program. Initially based in the San Francisco Bay Area, the organization transitioned to a fully virtual format in 2020. The organization offers a 24-week, full-time software engineering program that focuses on full-stack web development using JavaScript. Participants receive hands-on training, laptops, and may qualify for living and childcare stipends. Techtonica also provides job placement support, mentorship from industry professionals, and opportunities to build a portfolio of projects. The program collaborates with tech companies that are committed to fostering diverse and inclusive teams, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for the job market. Techtonica has successfully supported a significant number of graduates, many of whom experience substantial increases in their income after completing the program.
