The Schroeder Arthritis Institute is Canada's largest multidisciplinary arthritis program, part of the University Health Network in Toronto. Launched in October 2020 with a $25 million donation, the institute focuses on curing arthritis through integrated research, clinical care, and education. It aims to prevent and effectively treat over 100 diseases that cause joint inflammation and chronic pain, impacting millions of Canadians.
The institute serves over 80,000 outpatients annually and is recognized for its comprehensive services across four divisions: Orthopedics, Rheumatology, Osteoporosis Clinic & Research, and Spine Care. It is home to the world's largest arthritis biobank and leads in innovative research, including AI and gene sequencing for precision treatments. The Schroeder Arthritis Institute also provides training for medical students and residents, fostering collaboration with top scientists and institutions to advance arthritis care and research.
