PROJECT EADEN
About
Project Eaden is a Berlin-based startup focused on climate tech and food technology, founded in 2022. The company specializes in creating ultra-realistic plant-based meat alternatives using innovative fiber-spinning technology inspired by the textile industry. Led by co-founders Dr. David Schmelzeisen and Jan Wilmking, Project Eaden has a team of 30 professionals, including material scientists and food technologists. The company's flagship product is a plant-based ham, which launched in 2,000 REWE supermarkets across Germany in 2025. Project Eaden's technology replicates the taste, texture, and nutritional profile of animal meat using plant-based ingredients like pea protein. The company is also developing additional plant-based meat products and aims to expand its offerings beyond the DACH region into broader European markets and eventually worldwide. With a commitment to sustainability, Project Eaden's products significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, and land use compared to traditional meat production.
