About POCAM - People of Colour in Advertising & Marketing

POCAM (People of Colour in Advertising & Marketing) is a Canadian non-profit organization established in 2020. It aims to empower Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) professionals in the advertising and marketing sectors. POCAM was founded by a group of industry leaders and has grown to over 1,770 members. The organization focuses on advocacy, support, and systemic change, working with partners like Code Black and the Black Talent Initiative.

POCAM's mission is to provide a platform for BIPOC professionals to share their experiences and address inequities in the industry. Key initiatives include the annual Visible & Vocal Study, which surveys the demographics and experiences of BIPOC marketers, and the Call for Equity, advocating for fair representation. POCAM also hosts events and discussions aimed at fostering inclusive strategies and driving industry change. The organization maintains a BIPOC-only LinkedIn group to enhance community connectivity and support.
