OrthoSensor, Inc., based in Dania Beach, Florida, was a medical technology company founded in 2007. It specialized in sensor-driven solutions for musculoskeletal care, particularly in orthopedic surgeries. On January 5, 2021, OrthoSensor was acquired by Stryker Corporation to enhance Stryker’s digital offerings in orthopedics. The company developed innovative technologies such as the Verasense Intraoperative Sensor Technology, which provides real-time pressure measurements during knee replacement surgeries. This system helps optimize soft-tissue balance and implant positioning. OrthoSensor also created wearables and smart implants for monitoring patient recovery, as well as data analytics platforms that assist surgeons in analyzing both intraoperative and postoperative data. These tools are designed to improve surgical precision and patient outcomes, particularly in joint replacement procedures.
