NC BioNetwork
About
NC BioNetwork is a life science training initiative within the North Carolina Community College System. Established in 2004, it focuses on workforce development for the biotechnology and life science sectors across the state. The initiative supports all 58 community colleges and serves companies in all 100 counties, helping to transition North Carolina into a biomanufacturing economy. The organization offers a variety of services, including hands-on workforce training programs like the BioWork certificate for process technicians, laboratory and testing services, and educational support. Its facilities, such as the Capstone Center and Natural Products Laboratory, provide industry-grade resources for product development and analytical testing. NC BioNetwork also engages in STEM outreach, connecting industry skills to education through classroom visits and professional development activities. By collaborating with industry leaders and educational institutions, NC BioNetwork has trained thousands of students and supports entrepreneurs and small businesses in the life sciences.
