Founded in 2019, the company has expanded its operations with multiple production facilities across Europe, including locations in the UK and Bulgaria. It operates under a royalty-free, open-source license, promoting freedom to operate within the UK and EU.

The company produces Mushroom® Packaging, made from mycelium and agricultural waste like hemp, cork, and sawdust. This innovative material is biodegradable and compostable, breaking down naturally in about 45 days. It offers protective qualities similar to traditional packaging while being carbon-neutral and cost-competitive. The packaging is suitable for various applications, including industrial packaging and fast-moving consumer goods. Magical Mushroom Company aims to remove over 4,000 tonnes of EPS polystyrene from landfills by 2025, having already produced over 5 million pieces of mushroom packaging since 2020.
