The International Skin Tear Advisory Panel (ISTAP) is a global collaboration founded in 2011, focused on improving outcomes for individuals with skin frailty at risk of skin tears. With a mission to achieve "A World Without Skin Tears," ISTAP includes 19 expert members from 11 countries, comprising healthcare professionals such as nurses and wound care specialists. The organization has grown to over 5,000 members and partners with various organizations to enhance education and advocacy in skin tear management.

ISTAP offers a range of free, evidence-based resources aimed at preventing and managing skin tears, particularly in aged and fragile skin. Key offerings include the ISTAP Skin Tear Classification System, updated best practice recommendations, and the ISTAP Data Collection Tool for standardized data capture. Additional resources include concise guides, assessment pathways, and webinars. ISTAP also promotes global education through conferences and partnerships, ensuring that healthcare professionals and facilities have access to essential tools for skin tear prevention.
