Innovation PEI is the leading economic development agency in Prince Edward Island, operating as a crown corporation under the Government of Prince Edward Island. Its mission is to foster economic growth by investing in people, innovation, and infrastructure. The agency provides funding, expertise, and support to create a diverse and thriving economy, focusing on strategic sectors and entrepreneurship. The organization is structured into three main divisions: Business Development and Innovation, Global Trade Services, and Business Attraction and Emerging Sectors. With a dedicated team of 47 staff members, Innovation PEI emphasizes values such as client focus, collaboration, and accountability. It prioritizes high-growth sectors including advanced manufacturing, aerospace, bioscience, information technology, financial services, and renewable energy. Innovation PEI offers a variety of business support programs, including the Ignition Fund and the Innovation Fund, aimed at helping businesses start, grow, and succeed. In 2022, the agency supported over 1,100 business projects and facilitated exports to 127 countries in 2021, showcasing its commitment to job creation and economic development in the region.
