GlobalSkin, also known as the International Alliance of Dermatology Patient Organizations, is a Canada-based not-for-profit organization. It unites over 300 patient organizations from 74 countries, focusing on more than 59 dermatological diseases. The organization is dedicated to improving the lives of dermatology patients through research, advocacy, and support.
GlobalSkin's mission is to promote patient-centric care and engage with global decision-makers, including the WHO. It operates on three core pillars: research, advocacy, and support. The organization conducts projects like the Global Research on the Impact of Dermatological Diseases (GRIDD) to gather data for advocacy efforts. It also drives initiatives to raise awareness, influence policy, and provide education and resources to member organizations. GlobalSkin fosters a collaborative environment among its members, which includes networks for specific diseases and regions, enhancing advocacy and resource access for dermatology patients worldwide.
