Gama

Gama Space is a French NewSpace startup founded in 2021 and based in the greater Parisian area. The company specializes in developing low-cost, reliable solar sails for deep space exploration and drag sails for satellite deorbitation. By utilizing sunlight for propulsion, Gama Space aims to redefine access to space and make missions more affordable and feasible.

The company's primary product, TechSail™, is designed for continuous propulsion using solar radiation pressure, with planned milestones that include testing in low Earth orbit and missions to Venus and the Oort cloud. Gama Space also offers Astrobrake, a deployable drag sail system that simplifies spacecraft deorbitation. This system operates independently, making it an effective solution for end-of-life spacecraft management. Additionally, Gama Space provides services such as simulations and regulatory reports to support its drag sail technology.
