About Fresh Routes

Fresh Routes is a not-for-profit social enterprise based in Calgary, Alberta, dedicated to improving food access for underserved neighborhoods. Founded in 2019 by Lourdes Juan, Fresh Routes operates mobile grocery stores that deliver healthy, affordable, and culturally appropriate produce. The initiative began as a pilot project and has expanded to serve various communities, including Indigenous populations, without requiring proof of income.

The organization emphasizes dignified food access, enabling choice and convenience for food-insecure Canadians. Fresh Routes' Mobile Grocery Store program offers significant cost reductions on fresh fruits and vegetables, making nutritious food accessible to those in need. The program has grown to serve thousands of individuals monthly, with a goal of impacting over 18,000 lives by 2025. Fresh Routes collaborates with various partners to enhance its services and promote community well-being.
