About

DoltHub is a platform designed for developers to collaboratively build, manage, and distribute Dolt databases. Dolt is the world's first version-controlled SQL database, allowing users to perform Git-like operations such as cloning, forking, branching, and merging. Founded in 2018 by Tim Sehn and Brian, DoltHub emerged from a garage startup that focused on enhancing open-source tools to support modern data applications. The company offers two main products: Dolt, a MySQL-compatible database that enables version control for data, and DoltHub, a web-based hosting platform for Dolt databases. DoltHub features a user-friendly interface, issue tracking, and pull requests to promote data sharing and collaboration. The first version of Dolt was released in August 2019, followed by DoltHub in September 2019. DoltHub is headquartered in Santa Monica, California, and has raised a total of $21 million in funding, including a $16 million Series A round.
