About

The Competency-Based Education Network (C-BEN) is a nonprofit organization focused on promoting competency-based education (CBE) in higher education. It connects various stakeholders, including colleges, universities, state systems, corporations, and service providers, to enhance educational practices. C-BEN's mission is to guide leaders in developing quality competency-based models for education, hiring, and training. C-BEN offers several services to support institutions in implementing effective CBE programs. These include workshops and webinars for educators and administrators, consulting services for building high-quality programs, and the annual CBExchange conference in the United States, which fosters learning and networking. Additionally, C-BEN hosts the CBExchange Asia-Pacific conference in partnership with the Singapore Institute of Technology, promoting global collaboration in competency-based education. Through its professional development courses via CompetentU, C-BEN helps individuals master key areas of CBE, such as curriculum development and assessment.
