Community Veterinary Outreach
About
Community Veterinary Outreach (CVO) is a registered Canadian charity established in 2012. It focuses on providing preventive veterinary care, health education, and human health services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing vulnerability. CVO operates under a "one health" model, which highlights the connection between human and animal health. CVO aims to create healthier communities by improving access to veterinary and human health resources for at-risk populations. Its services include full-service veterinary care, such as examinations, vaccinations, and spay/neuter programs, as well as human health services like smoking cessation and flu vaccinations. The organization operates in 11 communities across Canada, relying on volunteers and donations to support its mission. CVO also emphasizes community connections and education to strengthen the human-animal bond.
