Established in 2018, CCI aims to position Virginia as a global leader in cybersecurity while promoting economic growth. CCI offers various services, including facilitating research collaborations and providing funding and infrastructure for cybersecurity technology advancements. It supports workforce development through traineeships, internships, and cybersecurity clinics that engage students in real-world applications. The initiative also hosts events and conferences to foster knowledge sharing and innovation. CCI collaborates with 41 higher education institutions, industry partners, and government organizations to align efforts and enhance cybersecurity capabilities across the region. Its hub-and-node model allows for tailored programs that address local needs while driving statewide strategy and research.
