About

Blockchain for Climate Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 2017 that utilizes blockchain technology, particularly Ethereum, to support the Paris Agreement. The foundation aims to enhance climate finance and facilitate international cooperation on carbon markets, focusing on Article 6 of the agreement. One of its key initiatives is the BITMO Platform, which serves as a proof-of-concept for securely issuing and transferring carbon credits. This platform showcases the potential of blockchain for integrating international carbon markets. Additionally, the foundation offers an open-source platform that allows organizations to transparently measure, track, and report carbon emissions, promoting accountability in climate efforts. The foundation actively fosters dialogue and partnerships to advance blockchain-based solutions for climate action, emphasizing collaboration with various stakeholders, including governments, NGOs, and climate-tech innovators.
