About

Builders Code, managed by the BC Construction Association (BCCA), is an initiative aimed at establishing a standard code of conduct for the construction industry in British Columbia. Its mission is to create respectful, inclusive, and safe workplaces by expanding safety definitions to include psychological safety. Builders Code provides a comprehensive framework that includes behavioral expectations, tools, training, and policy guidance for both employers and employees. The initiative offers specialized training courses designed by construction professionals to improve workplace culture. These courses focus on skills development for leaders and employers, promoting safety, respect, and professionalism on worksites. Builders Code also provides additional support through program evaluations, market research, HR consulting, and coaching services. It collaborates with various partners, including WorkSafeBC, to promote its code of conduct across the construction sector, which encompasses over 28,000 companies and 267,400 workers in British Columbia.
