AltCap is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) established in 2005, focused on providing accessible capital to underserved entrepreneurs and communities across six states: Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Nebraska, and California. The organization aims to empower these entrepreneurs by offering alternative financing options that traditional lenders often overlook. AltCap provides a variety of services, including loans ranging from $5,000 to $250,000 for small businesses and microenterprises, with fixed interest rates and terms of 3 to 5 years. In addition to lending, AltCap offers financial resources, economic development support, tax services, and training programs to help entrepreneurs succeed. The organization has deployed nearly $300 million in capital, supporting over 1,200 borrowers and contributing to local economic growth. Certified as a CDFI in 2015, AltCap continues to enhance its mission of fostering community development and empowering small businesses.
