About

AI4Good Lab is a nonprofit organization established in 2017 by Dr. Doina Precup and Angelique Mannella. Its mission is to address gender disparity in technology by training women and gender-diverse individuals in artificial intelligence, particularly in machine learning for social good. The organization offers a full-time, 7-week summer bootcamp program across Canada, hosted at Mila and in partnership with several leading AI institutions. The bootcamp includes foundational training in machine learning, team projects focused on developing prototypes that address real-world issues, and mentorship from industry experts. Participants engage in a collaborative learning environment that emphasizes ethical AI design and diverse perspectives. The program aims to prepare individuals for careers in AI while fostering a supportive network and promoting social progress. The next cohort is scheduled for May 4 to June 23, 2026.
