Afro Canadian Contractors Association
About
The Afro Canadian Contractors Association (ACCA) is a not-for-profit organization established in 2020 by six Black business owners. Its mission is to promote the advancement of Black, BIPOC, and racialized contractors in Canada's construction industry through professional development, training, and networking. ACCA was publicly launched in February 2021 during Black History Month, aiming to unify and elevate the Afro Canadian community of contractors, builders, and renovators. ACCA offers a range of services to support its members, including training programs, educational resources, and networking opportunities. The association also runs mentorship programs to increase the representation of Black contractors and skilled workers, particularly racialized women. Additionally, ACCA engages in lobbying efforts and serves as a resource hub for project owners seeking qualified contractors. With a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, ACCA is dedicated to breaking down barriers and fostering collaboration within the construction industry.
