

The UNB Off-site Construction Research Centre (OCRC) is a research institution at the University of New Brunswick, established in 2019 through a partnership with OSCO Construction Group. It aims to position New Brunswick as a hub for off-site construction, addressing industry challenges through research, collaboration, and education.
OCRC emphasizes Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) principles to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety in construction projects. The center has completed over 50 projects, raised more than $8 million in research funding, and supported over 40 companies. Its services include process and productivity improvement, digital technology implementation, lab testing, certification programs, and collaborative research with industry leaders. The OCRC develops research-driven methodologies and technological frameworks for off-site construction, contributing to advancements in modular and prefabricated building techniques.
