Minds Matter is a national non-profit organization dedicated to empowering high-achieving, low-income high school students to achieve college readiness and success. Founded in 1991 in New York City, the organization addresses the educational achievement gap by providing resources, mentoring, and academic support to students who have the potential to pursue higher education.

Minds Matter operates a comprehensive three-year program for sophomores, juniors, and seniors, focusing on academic tutoring, SAT/ACT test preparation, and the development of writing and critical thinking skills. The program also includes enrichment experiences to broaden students’ horizons. With a network of 14 affiliates across major U.S. cities, Minds Matter serves over 1,000 students annually and boasts a 100% college acceptance rate for its graduates, many of whom enroll in top-ranked colleges. The organization aims to bridge socioeconomic disparities and ensure that motivated students have the support and tools they need to succeed in higher education and beyond.
