Distribution Canada Inc. (DCI) is a national buying group founded in 1981 to support independent grocers across Canada. In 2019, DCI restructured and formed the Canadian Independent Grocery Buyers Alliance (CIGBA), a not-for-profit organization aimed at enhancing collaboration and growth for its members. DCI represents over a thousand retail outlets nationwide, collectively generating billions in annual retail sales.

The organization focuses on collaborative buying power, negotiating purchasing terms and fostering partnerships among independent retailers, wholesalers, distributors, and manufacturers. DCI hosts various networking events, including the CIGBA/DCI Business Summit and Grocery & Specialty Food West, to connect retailers with suppliers and showcase industry innovations. Members benefit from preferred pricing through partnerships with global payment providers and can participate in advocacy initiatives, such as the CIGBA/DCI Star Awards, which recognize contributions to the industry.
