The Master Painters Institute (MPI) is an independent organization focused on establishing performance standards for paints and coatings. In 2017, MPI became part of AMPP, which has helped it expand its reach across North America, Latin America, Asia, and beyond.

MPI offers a variety of services, including the development of over 300 performance standards for coatings, testing products against these standards, and creating project-specific coating specifications. The organization also publishes essential manuals and provides online education and certification programs for professionals in the architectural and commercial coatings sectors. MPI’s Approved Product List recognizes products that meet its high standards, supporting manufacturers, architects, contractors, and government entities in ensuring quality and compliance in their projects.
