The Conseil de développement économique de l’Alberta (CDEA) is a not-for-profit organization established in 1997, dedicated to fostering economic development within Francophone communities in Alberta. Originally known as the Chambre économique de l’Alberta, it rebranded in 2006 to clarify its mission. The CDEA’s mission is to promote an autonomous and innovative Francophone economic presence, while its vision focuses on enhancing the economic contributions and prosperity of Francophones.
CDEA offers various services to support this mission, including business mentoring and coaching, educational presentations and training, community economic development strategies, recruitment assistance, tourism promotion, and youth integration initiatives. The organization also engages in project development and conducts research to inform economic strategies. With offices in Edmonton, Calgary, Bonnyville, and Grande Prairie, the CDEA serves local enterprises, start-up cooperatives, and individuals seeking economic opportunities within the Francophone community.
